Uttar Pradesh Home Guard recruitment has got the administration’s nod after a long wait in the state. The process of recruitment of 10,000 home guards in Uttar Pradesh will begin after the panchayat elections in the state. The Home Guard Department has not recruited jawans for nearly 10 years.
The number of vacant posts has been increasing due to the non-recruitment of candidates in the department for a long time. A large number of posts have been lying vacant in the Home Guard Department of Uttar Pradesh for quite some time.
But now preparations are being made to appoint women and male candidates to these vacant posts. The government is considering recruiting women to the posts in view of the Women’s Safety and Women’s Power Campaign.

- Educational Qualification: At least Class 10th Passed with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Age Limit Criteria: Minimum 18 Years to Maximum 45 Years.

The Yogi government has now got approval for the recruitment of home guards. The entire process will begin after the Panchayat elections. The application process for recruitment will be initiated soon.
More than 30,000 Vacancies in Uttar Pradesh for Home Guards
Uttar Pradesh has a total of 1,18,348 home guard posts sectioned, out of which about 87,000 are currently posted in the home guard service. About 82,000 of these do regular duty, while the rest remain in the reserve. About 3,000 home guard personnel retire every year in the state.
There has been no new recruitment in the last 10 years. The number of vacant posts is up to about 30,000. The Uttar Pradesh government has also approved the recruitment of home guards to 30,000 posts. The recruitment process will start soon.
