The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has stayed the deployment of panchayat assistants, accountants and data entry operators in gram panchayats. However, the current selection process has been allowed. The court has asked the additional chief secretary of Panchayati Raj to present the state government’s stand on petitions challenging the recruitment order.
These selection process issues have been termed as worthy of consideration by the court of justice AR Masood. On the other hand, the petitioners say that the provisions of the order issued on July 25 violated the right to equality. This will affect the interests of the candidates.
The high court has allowed the government and gram panchayats to apply for amendment of the order currently given after completion of the selection process along with the details of selection. Also, the next hearing of the case is scheduled for October 13, 2021.
