Odisha Public Service Commission will announce the Preliminary Examination Schedule for the Civil Service Examination. The written exam for the preliminary phase will be taking place in October 2023. Complete details regarding OPSC Civil Service Exam have been provided below.

The preliminary examination will be held in 5 district headquarters of the State. The exam will be conducted in Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, and Sambalpur.

The Admission Letter (OPSC OAS/ OCS Admit Card) to the concerned candidates shall be uploaded on the official website at least 10 days before the examination. The candidates are advised to download and take a printout of the Odisha Civil Services Admit Card online as the Commission is not going to dispatch any hard copy of the same.

The Commission will conduct the examination in two shifts in a single day. The concerned candidates will have to appear in both shifts and need to score qualifying marks in both of the papers for the next round.

Paper 1 will be conducted in shift 1 in the morning while paper 2 in the afternoon shift.

The preliminary Exam shall consist of two papers. Both papers shall be Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions). The paper II of general studies shall be a qualifying examination and a candidate has to score at least 33% marks to stand qualified for the next stage.

Only the candidates scoring 33% marks on paper 2 will get their paper 1 sheets checked.

  • General Studies Paper 1 – 200 Marks
  • General Studies Paper 2 – 200 Marks

The paper will have 100 questions while paper 2 carries 80 questions based on general studies.

Odisha Civil Service Recruitment Details

Recruitment for the Odisha Civil Service (OCS) was announced in January 2023. Recruitment is being conducted to fulfil 683 posts in the state’s Group A and Group B Services. The selection of the candidates will be placed in the following services.

  • Odisha Cooperative Societies (ARCS/ ARGS)

OPSC OCS/OAS Admit Card 2023 Download

The concerned candidates of Odisha Civil Service (OCS) can download the OPSC OCS Admit Card at least 10 days prior to the exam date. The candidates need to take a proper printout of the admit card as it needs to be carried while appearing for the examination.

The candidates are also advised to bring a valid photo ID card (original and photocopy) along with the online printed Admit Card/ Permission Certificate/ Admission Letter. A ration Card and a Learning Driving License won’t be considered valid ID cards for this examination.
