Haryana Public Service Commission has announced the preliminary exam date for Group A HCS (Executive Branch) and Group B (Allied Services). The Preliminary Exam will take place on 24 July 2022 in two shifts. The official notification has been issued by the HPSC on the official website as well.
HPSC HCS Admit Card for this exam will be released 10 days before the exam date. The written exam will be conducted at the Major District Headquarters of the Haryana State and Chandigarh.

HPSC HCS Exam Details 2022
HCS (Ex. Br.) & Other Allied Services Examination will consist of 3 successive stages.
- Preliminary Written Examination
- Main Written Examination
- Personality Test (Viva Voce)
Preliminary Test Details
The preliminary test will be a screening test in nature. The exam will have two papers and both of the papers are objective type multiple-choice questions. The exam will be an OMR based offline test.
- Paper 1: General Studies – 100 Marks
- Paper 2: Civil Services Aptitude Test – 100 Marks
Highlights of Exam
- Both the Question papers shall be of objective type (multiple choices) questions and each paper shall be of two hours duration.
- Both the Question papers shall be set bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi.
- For each wrong answer, one fourth (0.25) mark shall be deducted.
- The Paper-II i.e. Civil Services Aptitude Test shall be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
- The result of the preliminary examination shall be based on the marks obtained in Paper – I only, provided that the candidate has scored 33% marks in Civil Services Aptitude Test (Paper-II)

Candidates should take a colour printout of the HCS Admit card for the preliminary examination. The online printed admit card must be carried to the exam hall with a valid photo ID card like a Driving License, Aadhar Card, Pan card, Voter ID card etc. Failing to produce any of the documents can lead to debarring of a candidate from appearing in the examination.
