CISCE Board Exams 2021: ICSE Board postpones class 10th, 12th Exams due to corona

The ICSE exams were scheduled to be held from May 4 to June 7, 2021. The decision was taken just two days after CBSE decided to postpone the Class 12th exams and cancel the 10th exams in the country due to the growing corona cases. We also reached to some aspirants and here is what students have to say.

CISCE has postponed class XII board examinations while making it optional for class 10th candidates to appear in the written test. In the first week of June, an announcement will be made about board examinations keeping in view the coronavirus data.

CBSE has recently announced the cancellation of the exams for 10th board candidates but ICSE Board has given students an opportunity to opt for the exam by not cancelling the examination. According to the ICSE Board, ‘fair criteria’ will be fixed by the Board for students who do not want to appear for papers.

“My teachers have given us a lot of time, taken our classes every day, and I don’t have the question of not taking board exams,” says Lakshya, a student on the ICSE Board. I would like to take the instrument test whenever the time for appearing for the exam is favourable.”
A student whose CISCE 12th exams were postponed says “I’m afraid if the situation doesn’t improve, how many more months or years will we have to wait until everything goes well. Take exams, go to college, do a lot. But because of coronavirus, life has come to a standstill.”
Kanika, another student, says, “Our exams were postponed earlier, now the situation is deteriorating again. All in my family are in the grip of the coronavirus and all are recovering. It would have been very difficult to study and take exams. I’m glad I won’t be under pressure for the board exams at the moment.”
Kapil, a student who is going to appear for the ICSE 10th board exam, says, “I am from Delhi, studying from home for months, feeling like going out, but scared to see the increasing daily figures.” I am happy that the option has been kept for us and our exams have not been cancelled like any other board.”

It’s not mandatory for ICSE 10th class students to appear for the exams

According to the information issued by the Board, it would be optional for 10th standard students to appear for the examination. Students can appear for the written test later if they wish. If they don’t want to take the exam, the board will evaluate them accordingly. In addition, new exam dates for 12th class students will be announced in the first week of June.
