Medical Standards

Colors blindness won’t be accepted. The aspirant must not have a flat foot, knock knee or squint in eyes. Further optimal details on medical standards should be checked through the official notification.

Assam Police Assistant Jailor PET / PST Information

Physical Standards

Height should not be less than 162.5 c.m.s ( 5 feet 4 inches). Relaxation of about one inch for ST candidates. So ST candidates should have a height of 160 centimeters (5 feet 3 inches).

Medical & General Standards

The candidate must have a good character certificate. Eye vision must be proper i.e without color blindness and should have proper high color recognition.

Assam Police Constable Physical Test Details

Assam Police Written Test details for S.I, Jailors Recruitment

The written test will be conducted at the district headquarters for eligible candidates. The chairman holds the right to change the exam venue for any candidate. Thumb impressions using bio-metric machines will be taken before entry to the exam hall. The exam will be OMR-based and have objective-type questions.

  • Total Marks: 100  – Each question attracts one mark.
  • Negative Marking: Yes. Half mark to be deducted for each wrong answer provided on the sheet.
  • Exam Duration: 3 Hours

  2. Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India
  3. General Knowledge.
Important Points
  • Physical Test to take place after the written test.
  • Qualifiers of the written exam from each category will be called for PET / PST.
  • Documents such as a certificate of age proof (H.S.L.C), graduation, or additional qualification to be brought by the candidate during the physical test.
  • PST (Physical Standard Test) and PET (Physical Efficiency Test) will be organized for both male and female candidates as per the merit list.
  • NCC, home guard, or sports quota-based candidates will get extra 5 marks.
PST (Physical Standard Test)

Once documents are verified, the candidate should go through the PST which includes measuring height and chest.

Apart from required standards, knock knee, vision, color blindness, flat foot, varicose vein, physical deformities will also be checked by a medical officer. PST doesn’t carry any marks. It is conducted just for qualifying purposes.

PET (Physical Efficiency Test)

PET to take place for 40 marks. PET includes two events: Race & Long Jump. Long jump carries 10 marks and race carries 20 marks as a maximum.

  • For Male Candidates: 3.2 Km race in 15 minutes (900 seconds, minimum) and a long jump of 335 cm (minimum). Three chances will be given in the long jump event. The longest jump will be considered after the three attempts.
  • For Female Candidates: 1.6 K.m.s race in 8 minutes (480 seconds, minimum). A long jump of 244 cm (minimum) is required. Three jumping attempts can be made by the candidate, the longest one will be considered in last.
Proficiency In Computers

Candidates having computer knowledge (should have a proper degree or certificate or the diploma) will get 10 marks. A practical test will be conducted on the computer for such candidates.

Interview

Candidates who qualify for the physical test are invited for the personality test i.e interview. This one weighs 20 marks. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance given by the candidate in all events of total of 200 marks.

Assam Police Constable PET Details

Selection for constables includes written tests and PET. Candidates have to clear the physical test first and then appear for the written test.

There is relaxation in height for girls, sc / st candidates & other categories, so kindly go through the notification for full details. Candidate must have the following minimum height during the time of PET / PST:

  • Constable (Male): 170 c.m.s
  • Constable (Female): 157 c.m.s
Documents Scrutiny

Before starting the PET or PST, the original educational documents of the candidate should be checked. If a candidate fails to produce the original documents such as category certificate, marks sheet of 12th class or any asked, then his / her entry will be rejected for further procedure.

PST (Physical Standard Test)

Once documents are tested, candidates undergo the PST which consists measuring of height, weight, and chest (male).

Assam Police Constable Written Exam Pattern

Candidates who clear the PET will be called to appear in a written exam of 50 marks. The written test will be held at district-level headquarters. There will be 100 M.C.Q.s to be answered on the OMR sheet.

Each question carries a half mark. Questions from the 9th class, 10th class level will be available in the question paper. There is no negative marking in the Assam Police constable exam 2015-16.
